It’s always been a pleasure for us to jump into charity work and photograph events that raise so much for a worthy cause. Amanda elected to photograph her portrait in her parent’s Frank Lloyd Wright inspired home in Chesterfield, Virginia. It was an outstanding session with one of my favorite images coming from above, showcasing the lovely design of their home and Amanda’s contagious smile. This 11×14 print matted to a 16×20 frame was displayed in Keswick Hall throughout the wedding weekend.
I was given a private tour by the folks at Trump Winery and am excited to see how Trump Vineyard weddings unfold in the near future. I was able to photograph the old Kluge carriage house from within and we certainly think this has the potential to become one of the top wedding destinations in the south. This is a view from one of the windows near the east side of the property.
The 158 foot Currituck Beach Lighthouse, built in 1875 on the North Carolina Coast, was a pleasure to photograph. As awe inspiring as a lighthouse can be from the outside, it is the interior that can often lead to wonderful imagery with its geometric patterns and shapes combined with dramatic lighting and a few tourists in motion.
Batman (aka Hampton Garland) made one of his rare appearances last night – only a few images were captured of the elusive half dog, half bat.

There are times when you are documenting a wedding day that you know exactly what you are going to blog before you press the shutter release on your camera. Amanda, the bridesmaids, and parents were riding in our limo from Keswick Hall to the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Richmond, Virginia when her nephew quickly spoke up. He had to go…..now! At this point, I knew we were in for a great photograph.
