Sandra was overcome with emotion, just moments before the processional with her father.


OK. Maybe two moments. Sandra and Mike elected to see each other before their wedding and being avid cyclists, they wanted to incorporate that into their first glance. Mike elected to ride his bycicle from Charlottesville to Ash Lawn on the day of the wedding and Sandra was waiting when he rode up the long Ash Lawn entrance.

Ginger got a little lovin’ on an engagement session with Kim and Brian on The Jefferson Trail in Charlottesville, Virginia. We will be documenting their wedding this December at The Homestead in Hot Springs.

The Paramount Theater in Charlottesville, Virginia hosted The Golden Dragon Acrobats and this group didn’t disappoint. I chose a photograph taken near the end of the performance with a few of these ultra-talented performers.

My friends, Wendy and Bryan, asked if I would come over and photograph them just days before Wendy’s due date. We had a wonderful afternoon with temperatures in the 70s! I decided to take a portrait of their dog, George, with his expecting parents in the background. George has requested a 16×20 framed print above his dog house.

I’m not one to review gear on my website too often – however that might change in the near future as we are starting to cycle in some new equipment over the next few months and many people ask us about what we shoot with and why we choose certain cameras and/or lenses. I am going to start with something I don’t use on wedding sessions, but I absolutely love from a personal standpoint.
