

I was asked to follow the Dalai Lama around for approximately 3 1/2 hours during his visit to Charlottesville last week and ended up with a few images on the Dalai Lama’s worldwide website as well as the chance to meet him after lunch.

Norah Jones is one of those artists that comes along and gives music something it hasn’t had in a while….a dose sensational piano playing, a distinct voice, and a refreshing approach that has been influenced by everyone from Ella Fitzgerald to Ray Charles. I was a blast to chat it up with Norah and document her show that evening.

Believe it or not, we almost talked Blake Shelton into going to a karaoke bar after this show at The Paramount Theater. We all thought it would be funny for him to walk in and sing one of his songs to see how people would react. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen. He is currently a vocal coach on the NBCs “The Voice,” with Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, and Cee Lo Green.

As house photographer of The Paramount Theater, I was asked to document Secretary of State and former First Lady Hillary Clinton’s visit to Charlottesville, Virginia when she was campaigning for President in 2008. I had a few minutes with Mrs. Clinton backstage and certainly enjoyed the experience of photographing someone who will certainly go down as an influential figure in our nations history.
